Summary Explanation/Background:

At the January Planning & Zoning Board Meeting, the Board was presented with a proposed text amendment related to Article 2 - Administration of the Zoning Code.  Staff is recommending a text amendment in order to modify standards related to the approval process of a Zoning Use Certificate to be consistent and more forthcoming with the requirements for establishing a business (use) in Pompano Beach.  This amendment was approved by the Planning & Zoning Board, by a vote of 6-0.  The additional review standards for a Zoning Use Certificate allows the Fire Department, Building Division and Code Compliance to make comments and give guidance to prospective business owners about the approval process needed if the business will occupy a particular building.
