Summary Explanation/Background:
The proposed agreement would be mutually beneficial to both cities in terms of service provided and remuneration for same. It is also helpful to our fire-rescue department insomuch as we have an automatic aid agreement in place now wherein we provide a fire department emergency response for commercial and residential structure fires. Having our Fire Marshal involved in prevention efforts within the City of Lighthouse Point helps to reduce the risk of fire and life hazards for their residents, business owners, and visitors while concurrently reducing the risk to our responding firefighters and the firefighters employed by Lighthouse Point.
