The applicant, the City of Pompano Beach, requests approval of a Comprehensive Plan text amendment adopting the amended policies associated with the Water Supply Facilities Work Plan (WSFWP) update for the planning period 2025-2045. The amended policies are in the Potable Water Sub-Element and the Conservation Element.
The update ensures compliance with §163.3177(6)(c), Florida Statutes, which requires local governments to revise their WSFWP and associated Comprehensive Plan policies within 18 months after the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) adopts the update to the Lower East Coast Regional Water Supply Plan which occurred in September, 2024.
The Planning and Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval on January 28, 2026.
