Summary Explanation/Background:

The City of Pompano Beach as the lead agency was notified by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs (OJP) on September 18, 2019 that our application for the 2019 JAG grant was awarded.  OJP has a special condition that we need a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the other 17 participating agencies before we can expend, obligate or drawdown on any funds.  The City’s application for this grant was approved and ratified by the City Commission on October 7, 2019.

 

Origin of request for this action: Finance

Fiscal impact and source of funding: Grant award to 18 jurisdictions in Broward County will be $501,886.  The City’s allocation will be $111,379 to be used as follows.  $61,190 towards community outreach and support and $50,189 toward costs associated with administering the award.  There is no matching funds requirement.
