Summary Explanation/Background:

The attached is an Interlocal Agreement entered into by Broward County and the City of Pompano Beach to enforce the provisions of Broward County’s Emergency Order for COVID 19. Broward County is establishing a database base to track complaints and violations associated with the Emergency Order. Any complaints entered in to the tracking system will require the City to investigate. Under the terms of this Agreement the City can issue warnings or violations and levy fines if substantiated. Enforcement of the Order will be carried out by the City‘s Code Enforcement Department and the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The term of the Agreement is from June 1, 2020 until February 28, 2021. The City will be reimbursed a total of $185,000, paid on a monthly basis. Any fines paid to the City as a result of a violation will be retained by the City and not affect the monthly reimbursement.
