Summary Explanation/Background:
City Parking staff requests approval of this amendment to Section 70.11 of the City of Pompano Beach Code of Ordinances "ILLEGALY PARKED VEHICLES" to modify fines for parking violations from $35 to $45, as well as escalating the amount due to $60 after 14 calendar days and up to $75 after 30 calendar days, if the initial citation remains unpaid. It is staff's position that this recommendation is still in line with our neighboring communities who have a similar initial base fee, as well as escalation parameters as follows:
