Summary Explanation/Background:

Bid E-07-17 was issued for the Public Works Department to establish a contract for the furnishing of all labor, equipment, tools, and materials to replace the roof of the BSO Public Safety Complex.  Bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, Advanced Roofing, Inc., at a cost of $481,613.00.  The General Services Department performed outreach to local roofing contractors, to inform them about this project.  A total of twenty (20) local companies were notified.  This solicitation was assigned a voluntary 15% Small Business Enterprise (SBE) participation goal and a 15% Local Business participation goal; the recommended bidder has indicated 0% participation for Small Business Enterprise and 10% for the Local Business participation. Of the 25 Pompano Beach residents employed by the recommended bidder, 8 workers and 7 support staff will be assigned to this project. City Commission approval of this contract award is requested.
