Summary Explanation/Background:

Bid E-16-17 was issued to obtain bids from firms to provide all labor, equipment, tools, and materials for the upgrade of the interconnect between the City of Margate distribution system and the City of Pompano Beach water system.  The upgrade is necessary to bring the two Cities’ interconnect system of potable water up to industry standards.  Bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc., at a cost of $135,868.00.  The General Services Department performed outreach to local water main utility contractors, to inform them about this project.  A total of eight (8) local companies were notified.  City Commission approval of this contract award is requested.
