Summary Explanation/Background:

Bid L-14-17 was issued to establish a contract for furnishing all labor, equipment, tools, and materials for the relocation of the existing parallel taxiway Delta, the associated asphalt taxiway connectors to runway 15-33, pavement markings, earthwork, storm water collection system, taxiway lighting, irrigation system, sodding, and seeding at the City’s Airpark.  Bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Hardrives of Delray, Inc., in the amount of $3,608,801.30. This solicitation was assigned a voluntary 15% Local Business participation goal and a 15% Small Business Enterprise (SBE) participation goal; the recommended bidder has indicated 29% Local Business participation and 29% SBE participation.  At the February 14, 2017 Meeting, the City Commission approved a Joint Participation Agreement with FDOT providing up to $3,333,260 in grant funds for this project.  City Commission approval of this bid award is requested.
