Summary Explanation/Background:
Staff is seeking City Commission approval of an Ordinance to enter into a Solar
Energy Agreement with the Florida Power and Light (FPL). The agreement will allow FPL to install Solar Trees and Canopies at various locations throughout the City to
garner energy from the Sun and use the energy to generate electricity. The City will receive $18.00 per Kilowatt generated by the Canopies. Canopies and trees will be installed in City Hall’s parking lot and other designated locations in the future.
