Background:

Pursuant to the terms of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement with IAFF Local 1549, Article 15, Wages (wage reopener provisions), the City commenced negotiations with the IAFF team on July 25, 2017 and conducted four more meetings on August 1st, 8th, 14th and October 11th, 2017, which resulted in the agreement summarized below.

KEY COMPONENTS OF TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

WAGES: COLA (Article 15)

1.) 3% COLA FY 2017-2018 and 3% COLA FY 2018-2019. Cost: $823,780.

ASSIGNMENT PAY:

1.) All bargaining unit members who are certified EMTs shall have their base salaries increased by 1/2 % to 5.5 %, effective October 1, 2018.
2.) All bargain unit members who are certified Paramedics who are assigned by the Fire Department as Paramedics shall have their base salaries (which excludes the 5.5% EMT assignment pay) increased by 1/2 % to 15.5 %, effective October 1, 2018. Cost: $4,109.
