summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
Section 91.10, "Docking and Living Aboard Boats" of Chapter 91, "Boats and Water Recreation" of the Pompano Beach Code of Ordinances, currently is written to only pertain to single-family zoned lots. As such, for consistency we recommend amending to include multi-family and commercial zoned lots as it pertains to disallowing boats or watercrafts docking in any canal or waterway encroaching within 5-foot side setbacks of extended property lines or the navigational channel.

Section 151.03, "Structures in Waterways" of Chapter 151, "Beaches and Waterways" of the Pompano Beach Code of Ordinances, currently does not limit the distance of mooring piles to be installed in our waterways where the navigational channel is not well defined. As such, we recommend amending to establish criteria on limiting those distances.

Both of these recommendations serve to make our waterways safer and less obstructive and have been reviewed and approved by the Marine Advisory Board and Engineering Department.
