Summary Explanation/Background:
The Public Works Department requests approval to replace fencing, at the Municipal Cemetery, from Bauer Construction Corp., the awarded bidder per Broward County Contract #X2114362B1: Fencing - New, Repairs and Replacement Services. The chain link fence and concrete block surrounding the municipal cemetery is in poor condition and needs to be repaired by replacement. The scope of this CIP project will provide new steel picket fencing to encompass the west and central cemetery lawns as shown on attached map. Future CIP projects are currently programmed to install replacement fencing for the north and south lawns. The project in the amount of $103,000.00 includes the increased cost in contract line items and building permit fees. The Broward County contract, which is valid through February 26, 2019, is based on a competitive solicitation, and the City Code allows us to piggyback a contract of this type. City Commission approval of this action is requested.
