Summary Explanation/Background:
Pursuant to City Ordinances, the City Manager is required to submit the recommended budget and an explanatory budget message to the City Commission at least 60 days prior to the start of the new fiscal year.
Based on the available budget hearing dates, staff has confirmed with the Florida Department of Revenues the following dates required for the adoption of the tentative and final millage rates and budgets:
- Tentative Public Budget Hearing*: Friday, September 14th, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers.
- Final Public Budget Hearing: Friday, September 21st, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers.
Hard copies of the Recommended Operating/Capital and Line Item Detail Budget Books will be placed on the dais and electronic versions will be uploaded online on July 10th, 2018 to our website: http://pompanobeachfl.gov/index.php/pages/budget/budget
Discussions on the recommended budget for FY 2018-19 will take place during the July budget workshop scheduled for July 16th, 2018.
*Note: During the Tentative Public Budget Hearing, the City Commission also adopts the Final Annual Fire Assessment Resolution for FY 2018-19.
