Summary Explanation/Background:

In accordance with Section § 160.04  POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE, the Public Art Committee has the power to make recommendations to the City Commission on art, artist selection and artwork location.

Resolution # 218-250 between the City Commission of the City of Pompano Beach, Florida, approving and authorizing the proper City Officials to execute an agreement for commissioned artwork between the City of Pompano Beach and Cecilia Lueza Art Projects, Inc, was executed on September 11, 2018. The original Resolution #2018-250 was for a five (5) month agreement between the City of Pompano Beach and Cecilia Lueza Art Projects, Inc. The agreement will expire on March 1, 2019. The City needs to extend the agreement for an additional six (6) months due to unanticipated circumstances. Staff is recommending approval of this extension to allow Cecilia Lueza Art Projects, Inc. to complete the commissioned artwork.
