summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The 2018 Strategic Plan includes on an Action Item to fund and select an additional Code Compliance Officer to assist with the enforcement of the recently adopted community residential home ordinance. To help implement the Strategic Plan, the FY 2019 citywide budget approved funding to add an additional Code Compliance officer to assist with enforcement of high priority projects such as rental housing, vacation rentals and community residential homes.  Ordinance 2011-7 approved the original agreement between Calvin, Giordano and Associates and the City of Pompano Beach for code compliance services. This contract has been amended three times. This fourth amendment to the contract will add an additional code compliance officer for $85,000. The addition will increase the number of inspectors to be 11 total, and will increase the annual contract sum to be $1,391,428. No other changes have been made. The term of this agreement is longer than one year, therefore, it requires two readings and approval by Ordinance.
