summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
Approval of this agreement will allow the City to purchase a prefabricated sculpture from Shohini Ghosh for installation at Annie Adderly Gillis Park, 601 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Under the FY 2018 Public Art Annual Plan (Resolution # 2018-52), a project to purchase a prefabricated sculpture for $25,000.00, to be located on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Dixie Highway, was approved. A Call to Artists was posted June 14, 2018, with a deadline of August 1, 2018. One hundred-five (105) artists submitted applications. At its October 18, 2018 meeting, the Public Art Committee recommended approval of the selection of the sculpture "Chat" created by Shohini Gosh. During this same meeting the PAC also recommended changing the installation location of this sculpture to Annie Adderly Gillis Park for aesthetic reasons. This new location is located on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

The pre-fabricated sculpture will be delivered up to four weeks after this Agreement is approved by the City Commission. The artist team is responsible for the delivery and installation of the sculpture; the City is responsible for pouring the concrete podium the sculpture will be placed on.
