Summary Explanation/Background:
Staff is seeking City Commission approval of an Ordinance to enter into a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract with Verdex Construction LLC (Verdex) to assist with construction of a new Senior Activity center building (see Location Map). This is one of the approved General Obligation (G.O.) Bond projects. Verdex is expected to provide pre-construction services (to be awarded at a later date). During pre-construction, Verdex will work with the City’s design team in the preparation of construction plans; assist with value engineering to meet our budget for this project; secure bids from qualified contractors for various project activities; and help prepare a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal for City Commission approval. The GMP will be presented to the City Commission at a later date as well.
