Pursuant to Section 253 Article XXV of the City's Charter the City Commission declared the real property located at 937 SW 12 Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33069, also identified as Broward County Property Appraiser (BCPA) folio 4942 03 00 0564, as surplus May 28, 2019 with Resolution 2019-182.

Invitation for Bids 19-02 was issued June 3, 2019 to surplus the property. The bid was advertised in Sun Sentinel as required by Section 253 Article XXV of the City's Charter, posted on the Real Property webpage and notices were emailed to all bidders registered to receive surplus real property bid notices.

One bid was received from Southeastern Freight Lines, Inc. in the amount of $40,000.00 with a proposal to unify the parcel with the adjacent folio(s) to be developed as an expansion of the existing Southeastern Freight Lines, Inc. facility located on the adjacent property, as shown in the conceptual site plan submitted with the bid. The amount bid amount of $40,000.00, exceeds the BCPA market value of $34,850.00 by $5,150.00.

Development Services has reviewed the bid and provided a memo, included in the agenda item backup, confirming the proposed use meets the requirements of the Zoning code.

After reviewing the bid response with the City Manager it is recommended the award for 19-02 be made to the single responsive, responsible bidder Southeastern Freight Lines, Inc. for the purchase price bid of $40,000.00.
