Summary Explanation/Background:
The City of Pompano Beach requested conveyance of twenty one (21) vacant properties owned by Broward County located within the Pompano Beach city limits on April 1, 2019 with the correspondence included as Exhibit A, with two additional properties to be conveyed to the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). A list of the properties and corresponding maps showing the location of the properties is included as Exhibit B.

The request was approved with Resolution 2019-300 by the Broward County Commission at their June 4th County Commission meeting with the condition that twenty (20) of the twenty one (21) properties be developed as affordable housing. Property D as shown on the map included with Exhibit B3 will be held for future development to the B-3 General Business zoning designation and non-conforming lot size. A copy of Broward County Commission Resolution 2019-300 is included as Exhibit C.

The City's Office of Housing and Urban Improvement (OHUI) will develop the twenty (20) properties as affordable housing in accordance with the Use Agreement and Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions which will be recorded with the deed to convey the properties to the City.

Staff is requesting City Commission approval to enter into a Use Agreement and Declaration of Covenants and Restrictions for twenty (20) of the properties being conveyed to the City by Broward County.
