summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

Staff seeks approval of a Resolution to execute a Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The agreement formalizes the City's request for an extension of the current Local Area Planning (LAP) agreement, which is due to expire on June 30, 2017. The Supplemental Agreement will grant the City until December 31, 2017 to complete the project. The extension is necesssary due to unanticipated construction work (modify medians, expand intersection of MLK Boulevard and NW 27 Avenue, and install underground wiring for a future traffic signal at the same intersection). Staff recommends approval.
