summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The Florida Legislature is considering House Bill (HB) 13, which will terminate all CRAs in the state by 2037, not allow the creation of any new CRAs after October 1, 2017, and not allow any new CRA projects or debt after October 1, 2017; and Senate Bill (SB) 1770 will terminate all CRAs in the state by 2037 and will only allow the creation of new CRAs by a super majority vote of a city or county.  These bills would be detrimental to the Pompano Beach CRA and negate the CRA’s ability to leverage TIF as a tool for attracting private development.
