Summary Explanation/Background:
On July 20, 2015, the City of Pompano Beach and Broward County entered into an Agreement to provide public art relating to the Borward-100 Centennial Celebration. In conjunction with the Centennial Celebration, the County agreed to provide the location for the artwork. The VisualEYES project features a select group of renowned South Florida artists who will create ten murals around the County. The area around the Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) is an emerging arts & entertainment district that has seen the introduction of new murals. The Public Art Committee determined the back exterior wall of the BaCA would be an appropriate location for the mural "Visionary". This will be the third mural in that area. The License Agreement between the CRA and the City of Pompano Beach is for a five year term with a two year renewal, however the mural will be allowed to stay on the building for a total of seven years. This arrangement is a great opportunity to converge the City and CRA’s efforts to bring cultural arts into the community.
