Summary Explanation/Background:
This agreement will provide for a formal process for the City of Pompano Beach and the City of Margate to operate the potable water interconnection in the event of an emergency. The agreement provides operation and maintenance procedures and billing rates. The agreement is for a five year period.
The City of Pompano Beach has had the improved connection designed and will have it constructed this summer, sharing the costs with Margate ($79,024 for each city). The construction contract for $135,868.00 was approved at the March 28th commission meeting. An agreement for Construction Engineering Inspection services was entered into for $22,180.00. Funds from the Capital Improvement Project (16288 Utility Water Interconnect) are being used.
