summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program has awarded the City Pompano Beach an AFG grant for hydraulic patient stretchers and power load systems for seven (7) rescue/ambulances. At a cost of $200,708.00, four (4) existing hydraulic patient stretchers will be upgraded, three (3) will be replaced and seven (7) hydraulic patient stretcher power load systems will be installed. This provides the equipment needed for seamlessly power raising/lowering the patient stretcher and loading/unloading the patient stretcher in and out of the rescue/ambulance. This Resolution will authorize the City Manager to accept the AFG grant (EMW-2016-FO-04135) for hydraulic patient stretchers and power load systems totaling $200,708.00. The AFG grant will cover 90% ($182,462.00) and the City will cover 10% ($18,246.00).
