Summary Explanation/Background:
The BrowardNext planning process resulted in several changes to the “flexibility” standards in the adopted Broward County Land Use Plan which became effective in June, 2017. One of those changes was to combine all of the flexibility zones so each City in the County is now one zone. The cities are still allowed, however, to be more restrictive than the County. This proposed flexibility receiving area map amendment will address the County’s new approach while keeping the barrier island outside of the flexibility receiving area as was previously the case under Pompano’s current flex receiving area map.
