Summary Explanation/Background:

The purpose of the resolution is to adopt the Five Year Capital Improvement Plan FY 2018-2022.

The Capital Improvement Plan is a five year plan for funding the construction, acquisition and
rehabilitation of the City's facilities, infrastructure and equipment. The Five Year Capital Improvement Plan covers the budget for Fiscal Years 2018 through 2022 and it is included as an integral part of the operating budget of the City of Pompano Beach.

The Recommended CIP was distributed to the City Commission in July 2017. The "Existing Capital Projects" and the “Unfunded” sections have been updated based on the most recent data.

The Advisory Boards’ memorandums are attached: Air Park (Memo #017-02), Parks and
Recreation (Memo #17-S009), Golf, and Planning and Zoning (Memo #17-028).

 

Origin of request for this action: Budget Office

Fiscal impact and source of funding: Total of $16.3 million for FY 2018: $4.1 million General Capital, $7.1 million Utility Renewal & Replacement Capital, $5 million Stormwater Utility Capital, and $116 thousand Cemetery Trust Fund.
