Summary Explanation/Background:
In accordance with Section § 160.04 POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE, the Public Art Committee has the power to make recommendations to the City Commission on art, artist selection and artwork location. The Public Art Committee is preparing to install twelve (12) sculptures as part of the Painted Pompano Round 2: Schools of Art project. At the July 20, 2017 PAC Meeting, the Committee selected twelve (12) proposed locations for Round 2. Alternate sites may be selected due to challenges that may be encountered at the selected sites. The locations for the sculptures are: George Brummer Park; SW 36th Ave. & Palm Aire; Hillsboro Inlet Park; Sandspur Park; Alsdorf Park; Community Park; Dog Park; Civic Plaza; 1600-1698 NW 3rd Terr.; Fire Station 11- 109 N. Ocean Blvd.; Pompano Beach Citi Centre; Beach- N. Pompano Beach Blvd. These locations provide sculptures in every Commission District.
