Summary Explanation/Background:
This Resolution will confirm the City’s continued support in developing a safe and efficient transportation system for all users in Broward. The Broward MPO, in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), has a strong implementation program to construct transportation projects. FDOT, acting on behalf of the Broward MPO and the City, is responsible for overseeing all phases of project implementation, from design to construction. This resolution provides FDOT the confidence to move forward with the implementation of projects while avoiding delays and minimizing possible complications in the future. The FDOT Program Management Bulletin requires local governments to specifically endorse the Department’s delivery of project(s) within the local agency’s right of way in their resolution of support. Staff recommends approval.
