summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
This project entails maintenance, renovation and resource planning for the Blanche Ely House located at 1500 NW 6th Avenue. While the Blanche Ely House is a valuable City-owned resource, in its current state, the facility cannot be used for exhibitions or tours.

Through this project, the facility will be thoroughly cleaned and repaired. Grant funds will be used for structural, interior and exterior renovations. The proposed scope will be completed in two phases. Phase I will include interior and exterior repairs, ADA improvements, structural roof repairs and floor repairs. Phase II, which will be completed at a later date, includes the restroom renovations, landscape, exterior deck and remaining zoning and parking requirements.

The City would like to utilize Shiff Construction and Development, Inc., in order to procure these services for the Phase I renovation for Do Not Exceed amount of $298,750.00. Shiff Construction has been used on previous projects and performed very well. Utilizing this delivery method will allow the City to expedite and satisfy the grant requirements which expire on June 30, 2018.
