summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The City Commission approved the grant contract at its July 25, 2017 meeting. OHUI is responsible for the implementation, management, coordination and facilitation of all aspects related to the wind mitigation retrofit projects approved under the contract, which adhere to Florida Statue 553.844 Windstorm Loss Mitigation; Requirement for Roofs and Opening Protection.

The DEM recently approached OHUI to ask if it would accept an additional $100,000 to construct additional wind mitigation retrofit projects in Pompano Beach under the existing contract.  The attached contract increases the City’s present grant from $194,000 to $294,000.

The attached Resolution authorizes acceptance of the additional funds under the terms and conditions of the existing contract.
