summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
In 2016, the Broward County Commission, as well as the City of Pompano Beach (R2016-134), adopted the updated Unified Sea Level Rise Projection from the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact as the basis for regional sea level rise adaptation planning.

In 2017, the Broward County Commission directed their Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department ("EPGMD") to create and maintain a future conditions map series to include average wet season groundwater elevations and 100-year flood elevations to account for predicted changes in water levels and ensure the resiliency of current and future infrastructure investments. All of the cities in Broward County were invited to participate in the cost of the study necessary to prepare these future conditions maps. The Pompano Beach City Commission approved this cost as a budget enhancement in the 2018-19 fiscal year budget.

In 2018, Broward County signed an agreement with consultants to develop the 100-year Flood Elevation Map and Associated Modeling, which costs a total cost of $717,894 (the "100-Year Flood Agreement"). This agenda item is to adopt the Resolution and Interlocal Agreement through which the City will pay the budgeted share of the cost of this study to the County. The scope of the 100-Year Flood Agreement is attached to the Interlocal Agreement made part of this Resolution.
