All municipalities in Florida are required by law to provide and compensate defense counsel who represent indigent persons arrested and held in-custody charged with municipal ordinance violations. Previously, the City Commission had approved a contract with an attorney who has provided excellent service to the City and Defendants, including appearance at weekend and holiday bond hearings as required (although not specified in the original agreement).
