Summary Explanation/Background:
The 14th Street Townhomes Association is proposing to underground their overhead facilities (electric, cable and phone). Total liner feet to underground is 1,264 feet, however, 501 feet of this total, or 40%, is directly adjacent to 14th Street Causeway which a major thoroughfare in the City. As such, the Association is requesting City to subsidize costs for this segment adjacent to 14th Street Causeway only. Attached is an estimate which represents $276 K for the entire project of which 40% equates to $109 K.
Commission previously approved this Agreement in 2014, however there is a 2-year expiration clause and the Association was not able to start the work within these 2-years and the Agreement has expired. The Association has since decided to start this project and as such this item must be presented again to Commission.
