summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

Staff is seeking City Commission approval of Amendment Two of a Local Funding Agreement (LFA) between the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the City. Amendment Two ratifies the City’s commitment to proceed with design and construction of streetscape improvements on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Hammondville Road) from I-95 to Powerline Road and allows disbursement of the City’s matching funds in the sum of $2,972,180.00. The funds were pledged by the City as a match towards the total cost of the project. The rest of the funds come from a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (“TIGER”) grant awarded in 2016. Staff recommends approval.
