Approval of this Resolution will allow Public Art Committee (PAC) to initiate four (4) new Public Art Projects within FY 2020.
In accordance with Chapter 160.04 (F), the Public Art Committee is responsible for submitting an annual report to the City Commission each year at the end of the 12-month term. The attached report describes the Committee's accomplishments during the past year, gives the status of current projects, provides information on any future plans, and includes an inventory of public art in the City.
As fully described in the proposed FY 2020 Annual Plan, the Public Art Committee has either completed, initiated, or participated in nineteen (19) public art projects in 2019. There are currently four (4) new projects proposed for FY 2020. The recommended FY 2020 Annual Plan budget is $195,150.00. There is currently $134,901.00 in Public Art Funds plus $200,000.00 from the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) creating a total of $334,901.00 available for Public Art in FY 2020.
The PAC and staff are recommending approval of this Resolution for the Public Art FY 2020 Annual Plan.
In accordance with Section ? 160.04 POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE, the Public Art Committee has the authority to make recommendations to the City Commission on art, artist selection and artwork location.
