summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

The City of Pompano Beach Utilities Department was awarded $500,000 matching grant through the SFWMD Cooperative Funding Program for our reuse distribution expansion project. This funding will be utilized to construct approximately 30,000 linear feet of 4” and 6” reuse main with appurtenances.
This project will mitigate salt water intrusion, recharge the aquifer, and protect the environment. The project location spans north from NE 16th Street to NE 24th Street and east from NE 23th Avenue to the Cul-De-Sac extremities bordering the Intra-coastal Waterway. The total project cost is approximately $1.2 million dollars. The SFWMD grant appropriated $500,000 (49%) and the City’s match will come from our CIP Reclaim Water Distribution Expansion account 420-7282-533.65-12 (51%).
