Summary Explanation/Background:
Florida Power and Light (FPL) is currently designing a project to underground overhead utilities in Hillsboro Harbor at their cost (refer to attached “location map”), however, some of their equipment may need to be installed within City right-of-way, and in this specific case on a small sliver of City owned property located between 2100 NE 27th Ave and 2090 NE 27th Ave. This property serves no real purpose for City and would assist FPL in completing their design and assist our residents by hardening Hillsboro Harbor neighborhood consisting of approximately 170 properties. Attached is the proposed easement (approx. 4’ x 20’) between City and FPL that needs to be granted in order for FPL to continue moving forward with design.
