summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

Witt O'Brien's LLC was selected to provide the City's disaster recovery management services per the issuance of RFP E-08-20 during the July 28, 2020 Commission meeting.  Witt O'Brien's LLC may be requested to provide disaster recovery management services to the City on a stand-by basis, at the City's discretion. These services may encompass oversight and management of debris recovery contractors, emergency management planning and training, and public assistance consulting services.

They will serve as a valuable resource to the City as we deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and any other public emergencies such as hurricanes.  Most of their costs are ultimately recovered through the FEMA reimbursement process.  Staff recommends approval of the attached five year contract with Witt O'Brien's LLC.

Origin of request for this action: Finance Department

Fiscal impact and source of funding: Standby contract.  No cost at this time.  To be funded on activation from Disaster Contingency Reserve (General Fund) or other reserve funds.  Reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in accordance with established guidelines when applicable.
