Summary Explanation/Background:
Staff is seeking City Commission approval of a Resolution to enter into two (2) separate agreements with the Florida Power and Light (FPL) (see Exhibits A-D). The agreements will allow FPL to provide for the installation and modification of existing lights in Old Pompano. The neighborhood will receive light coverage supplemented by the installation of 221 new light fixtures as shown on Exhibits E-H. As a function of these agreements the City is required to make a contribution of $16,443.97 and $102,587.97, respectively. These contributions (see Payment Coupons 1-3) will offset costs of installing cables and required equipment. Staff recommends approval.
