summary
Summary Explanation/Background:
Staff is seeking approval of a Resolution to execute an Installation of Required Improvements Agreement (see Exhibit A) with Broward County. As a function of the City’s desire to build Fire Station 114 (see Location Map), the City is compelled to make offsite improvements on County right-of-way. The agreement is required when proposed improvements affect a County-owned roadway and stipulates specific improvements that the Applicant (City) must complete before the project can receive a Certificate of Occupancy. Page 12 of the agreement outlines said improvements. There are no financial impacts associated with this agenda item as funds were previously earmarked in the Design-Build contract awarded to DiPompeo Construction. The County’s cost estimate form identifies expenses related to improvements that the contractor must complete before final approval. Failure to do so would result in County’s appropriation of funds through the contractor’s performance bond.
