summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

On May 16, 2019, the City solicited from hydrogeologic and engineering firms to submit letters of interest, qualifications, and experience for consideration to provide design study services related to existing and new raw water wells through RLI E-28-19. These studies are required in order to provide a plan of action that would permit the Utilities Department to proceed with decommissioning or abandoning older wells that are cost prohibitive to keep on line due to age and a plan for moving wells that are in danger of saltwater intrusion.  This study will ensure a stainable water source into the future.

Origin of request for this action: Utilities Department

Fiscal impact and source of funding: $357,432 from CIP 19-349 / Acc# 420-7627-533.65-03
