Summary Explanation/Background:
Staff is seeking City Commission approval of a Resolution to grant an easement to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The easement is necessary for the future management and operation of a new traffic signal being installed at the intersection of SR A1A and Pier Street (see Location Map). The signal is being relocated from a point +/-100’ south. The relocation of this signal was discussed and resolved as a method to facilitate vehicular and pedestrian traffic navigating the intersection and as an effective way to safely bring people from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Fishing Pier and to the Fishing Village. The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is paying for the costs to relocate the signal. Staff recommends approval.
