Summary Explanation/Background:
The Northwest Community Redevelopment Agency (“NWCRA”) Plan, originally amended November 9, 2010, is outdated and required substantial edits to comply with the CRA statute currently in effect. Typically, Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) Plans are updated every five (5) years to remain relevant and compliant with the state statute. The Amended NWCRA Plan retains all of the statutory powers, eliminates provisions that are not statutorily authorized, outlines the key focus of the NWCRA moving forward with the reduction in Tax Increment Funding as per the Interlocal Agreement with the taxing authorities, updated photos, data references and CRA compliance with the original NWCRA Plan. At the meeting of July 20, 2021, the CRA Board approved and supported the Amended NWCRA Plan by CRA Resolution No. 2021-53 and recommended approval of the Amended NWCRA Plan to the City Commission as the governing body of the Pompano Beach CRA. Before the City Commission for Approval is the Amended NWCRA Plan.
