Summary Explanation/Background:
When parcels at the beach were developed to Create the City’s “Fishing Village” several new streets were established to include “Pier Street” which extends from SR A1A (North Ocean Blvd) to Pompano Beach Blvd. The expectation by the City and the Fishing Village Developer was that Pier Street would extend from North Riverside Drive (Intercostal Waterway) to Pompano Beach Blvd which is the entrance to Municipal Pier. This resolution will rename NE 2nd Street from North Riverside Drive to A1A. Since there are no properties that front this road there will be no need to accomplish US Post Office changes of address.
