summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

City staff has approached CRA staff to utilize CRA owned vacant lots for a small 54 space public parking lot (Exhibit 2) to be incorporated in the City’s overall public parking/transit hub. The intent is to provide parking for the general public, McNab House and Botanical Garden and in the interim to provide parking for the proposed Pompano Station project. This item came before the CRA board on November 16th, 2021 and was subsequently approved on that date. The City intends to charge a parking fee to the public for the parking spaces contained within this lot with the following considerations. The City will enforce parking within the entire lot consisting of approximately 54 parking spaces. For this consideration the City agrees to pay CRA, Ten Thousand (10,000.00) per year, payable in quarterly installments of Two Thousand Five Hundred ($2,500.00) dollars. There will be no permanent improvements to this lot and payment from the parking public will be accomplished via our current parking app providers Passport Parking and Pay By Phone with an appropriate number of clearly visible signs at the entrance to the parking lot.

The Interlocal Agreement was approved by the CRA Board on November 16, 2021.
