summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

In accordance with Chapter 160.04 (F), the Public Art Committee is responsible for submitting an annual report to the City Commission each year at the end of the 12-month term. The report  describes the Committee's accomplishments over the past year, gives the status of current projects, provides information on any future plans, and includes an inventory of public art in the City.

The Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Annual Plan includes current Public Art Program accomplishments, the status of public art projects in progress, proposals for future projects and an updated inventory and budget.

As fully described in the Annual Plan, the Public Art Committee has either completed, initiated or participated in seven (7) public art projects in 2021. There are currently six (6) projects proposed for FY 2022. The total appropriation for FY 2022 is $114,500.00. There is currently $245,580.00 in Public Art Funds plus $200,000.00 from the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) creating a total of $$445,580.00 available for Public Art.

The Public Art Committee and staff recommend approval of this Resolution to move forward with the FY 2022 Public Art Annual Plan.
