Summary Explanation/Background:

Invitation to Bid (ITB) E-22-22 was issued to obtain bids to establish a contract for new storm drainage water piping and drainage structures by installing a new complete stormwater collection system, reconstruction of the project roadways, swales, signage, and thermoplastic pavement markings located on NE 3rd and NE 4th Streets east of Harbor Drive in Pompano Beach, Florida. This work is required to improve surface water runoff collection and provide safe passage for pedestrian and vehicular traffic throughout the area Improved surface water runoff collection will provide safe passage for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Bid award is recommended to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Southern Engineering Contractors Inc., at a cost of $940,846.60.  The General Services Department performed outreach to local storm drainage companies to inform them about this project.  A total of twenty-five (25) local companies were notified.  City Commission approval of this contract award is requested.
