Summary Explanation/Background:
The ordinance increases illegal parking fines to $150 for commercial vehicles, which includes tractor-trailers. In addition to the higher fines, tractor-trailers illegally parked in residential districts are deemed to constitute a hazard to vehicular traffic and pedestrians and may be towed away at owners’ cost. Also, tractor-trailers parked in violation in areas not zoned residential and not removed from the rights-of-way within 24 hours after being cited are subject to towing.
