summary

Summary Explanation/Background:

This Work Authorization directs Kimley-Horn to explore the feasibility of undergrounding utilities in the City’s two transit-oriented corridors. The study will develop an opinion of cost for underground conversion of existing utilities. It will also develop options for a potential “fee-in-lieu-of” calculation for future redevelopment. The City entered into an overall contract for undergrounding with Kimley-Horn on September 11, 2018 by Ordinance No. 2018-77. Since this Work Authorization is over $75,000, it must be reviewed by the Commission. The attached resolution ratifies approval of a work authorization with Kimley-Horn, which was signed by City Management during the August hiatus.
